METRO TOURNAMENT – INFORMATION & RULES
Overview
The Metro Tournament is a single-elimination postseason tournament for all Florida First Coast Softball leagues. Teams qualify based on league standings and compete for the Metro Championship.
Format
- Single Elimination Tournament
- Lose once = eliminated
- Brackets are created based on final league standings/seeding
Seeding & Home Team
- Teams are seeded based on league standings
- Higher seed is the home team throughout the entire tournament
- Seeding tie-breakers (if needed):
- Head-to-head results
- Overall record
Game Operations
- Umpires and scorekeepers are provided and paid by the league (same as regular league play)
- Standard league rules apply unless otherwise noted
Roster Requirements (MANDATORY)
- A completed roster is REQUIRED to participate in Metro
- Roster must be submitted before the tournament begins
- No roster = not eligible to play
- All players must have:
- Completed registration
- Signed waiver (wet/ink signatures required)
Player Eligibility
- Only players listed on the official roster are eligible to play
- No unregistered or non-rostered players allowed
Location & Scheduling
- Metro tournaments are scheduled based on field availability
- Locations may include:
- Location changes may occur due to scheduling conflicts
- Teams will be notified in advance of:
- Game times
- Field assignments
- Any location updates
Participation Confirmation
- Teams must confirm IN or OUT of Metro by the deadline provided
- Failure to respond may result in:
Important Deadlines
- Roster submission deadline: Before Metro begins
Additional Notes
- Metro is typically held:
- The following week on your usual game day
- All scheduling and structure is designed to:
- Minimize downtime
- Keep games moving efficiently
- Provide a competitive postseason experience
